UNIVERSITIES |
Sheffield Hallam University has confirmed its place in the top ten of new universities with a huge increase in funding for research. The additional income comes in part as a result of the recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) which looked favourably at Sheffield Hallam's research activity. For more on this click here.
The University of Sheffield, which is among the top ten in the Russell Group, has launched a unique centre, based at its Department of Journalism Studies, which aims to expose ways in which media freedom is undermined or abused and to examine news media standards of independence and truthfulness. This new website will highlight all that city centre retailers have to offer, allowing residents and visitors to get the most out of shopping in the city centre. Sheffield has secured a coup as one of only four UK cities to be chosen to stage a concert by arguably the world's biggest rock group, U2, at Don Valley Stadium on August 20. For more on this click here.
